nViPER — Privacy Policy

This privacy policy is published by NEXT176 s.r.o. (Slovakia), operator of the nViPER application for macOS distributed via the Mac App Store. Personal data processing is governed by EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).
1. What data nViPER collects
None. nViPER is a sandboxed local application. It runs exclusively on the user's device and does not collect, store or transmit any personal data to NEXT176 servers or third parties.
- No telemetry.
- No analytics (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, etc.).
- No crash reporting (no Sentry, no Crashlytics, etc.).
- No advertising identifiers, no tracking pixels.
- No third-party integrations except Apple StoreKit.
2. Apple StoreKit (PRO in-app purchase)
When purchasing nViPER PRO Lifetime (a one-time in-app purchase via the Mac App Store), the payment is processed exclusively by Apple Inc. NEXT176 does not see or store payment card data, customer name, Apple ID, billing address or other payment details.
nViPER stores locally on the user's device only the confirmed transaction identifier (Apple StoreKit purchase ID) — so the app knows that PRO features are unlocked. This identifier is never transmitted anywhere.

3. SFTP / FTP / SCP connections
When connecting to a remote server, the credentials entered by the user (hostname, port, username, password / SSH key) are stored exclusively locally in the macOS Keychain and in application settings on the user's device. These credentials never leave the device except for the direct connection to the server specified by the user.
4. User files
nViPER as a file manager accesses files that the user explicitly selects (via sandbox security-scoped bookmarks on macOS). The content of files is never transmitted nor collected by NEXT176.
5. Sandbox and entitlements
nViPER runs in the Apple App Sandbox. It has only these entitlements:
com.apple.security.files.user-selected.read-write— access only to files selected by the usercom.apple.security.files.downloads.read-write— Downloads foldercom.apple.security.network.client— connecting to SFTP / FTP / SCP servers specified by the usercom.apple.security.automation.apple-events— opening files in other applications (Open With…)
6. Cookies, local storage
nViPER is not a web application. It does not use cookies or similar web technologies.
7. Your rights (GDPR)
Since NEXT176 does not process any of your personal data within the nViPER application, we have nothing to provide based on a request for access, rectification, erasure or portability. Apple StoreKit transactions are governed by Apple's privacy practices.
8. Changes to this privacy policy
Any future changes will be published on this page and announced in the release notes of the new application version.
