DocuReady — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
This privacy policy is issued by NEXT176, s. r. o. (Slovakia), the provider of the DocuReady application for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android, distributed through the App Store and Google Play. Processing of personal data is governed by EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and Slovak Act 18/2018 Coll.
1. What data DocuReady collects
NEXT176 collects none. DocuReady is a local-first document vault. NEXT176 does not operate a DocuReady account or a server for storing documents, and the application does not send documents, their details or any other personal data to NEXT176 or to third parties. The only exception is the technical diagnostics of Google ML Kit in the Android app, described below.
- No telemetry or analytics of our own.
- No third-party crash reporting.
- No sign-up and no user account.
- No advertising or tracking identifiers.
- No remote AI: text recognition runs on the device.
In the Android app, scanning, text recognition and barcode reading use Google ML Kit, which runs on the device. ML Kit sends Google technical data for diagnostics and usage statistics: the device model and system version, the app version, an installation identifier, performance figures and error codes. It never sends document images, recognised text or any other content of the vault. Google describes this data in its ML Kit data disclosure. The iPhone, iPad and Mac apps use Apple's on-device frameworks and send no such data.
2. What the user stores in DocuReady
The user decides what the vault holds: documents of family members, vehicles, companies, the household, finances and loyalty cards. They may contain sensitive personal data, identification numbers and data about children. They are processed only on the user's device: previews, text recognition of images and reading the text of PDFs happen locally. The user confirms recognised text before it is saved for search, or turns saving it off.
3. Where the vault is stored
The user chooses where the vault lives: on the device, in their own iCloud Drive, or with another storage provider available in the system. Transfer and storage by such a provider are governed by the terms of the user's own account with that provider. NEXT176 has no access to the vault in any of these places.
4. Encryption
In a Protected Vault, documents and their details are encrypted with a key derived from the user's password (Argon2id and XChaCha20-Poly1305) before they are written. NEXT176 does not know the password or the recovery key and cannot open the vault. In an Open Vault, files intentionally remain readable in the file manager.
5. Permissions
- Camera: only when the user starts a scan or takes a photo.
- Files and photos: only the items the user picks in the system picker.
- Face ID, Touch ID or device biometrics: protect the device unlock key; the application never receives biometric data.
- Notifications: only local reminders of expiring documents. Push notifications are not used.
6. Purchases
The optional Pro purchase is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). NEXT176 neither sees nor processes payment details; the application only checks through the store whether a purchase is active. NEXT176 may receive the store's usual financial and sales reports, never the content of the user's documents.
7. Retention and deletion
Data stays until the user deletes it. The trash is reversible; permanent deletion removes the records and the original files and keeps only a temporary synchronisation marker that contains no document content. Copies and version history kept by a cloud provider follow that provider's own features and retention rules.
8. Rights under the GDPR
Because NEXT176 has no access to a user's vault, it holds no personal data from it that could be disclosed, corrected or erased. The user can view, export, correct or delete everything directly in the application or in their chosen storage.
9. Children
The application is not directed at children. A parent may store their children's documents in their own vault; this data stays with the parent and NEXT176 does not receive it.
10. Changes to this policy
Any changes will be published on this page together with an updated date.
