20Away — Privacy Policy

This privacy policy is issued by NEXT176, s. r. o. (Slovakia), the provider of the 20Away application for macOS, iPhone and iPad, distributed through the App Store. Processing of personal data is governed by EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and Slovak Act 18/2018 Coll.
1. What data 20Away collects
None. 20Away is a sandboxed local application. It runs entirely on the user's device and does not collect, store or transmit any personal data to NEXT176 servers or to third parties.
- No telemetry.
- No analytics (no Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel or similar).
- No third-party crash reporting.
- No sign-up and no user account.
- No advertising or tracking identifiers.
- The application does not need an internet connection to work.
2. Camera
The camera is optional and switched off by default. If the user turns it on, 20Away uses it solely to detect locally whether someone is in front of the screen.
- Frames are analysed on the device itself by the system Vision framework, at most once per second.
- Only the presence of a face in the frame is detected. The application does not recognise identity, age, gender or emotion.
- Each frame is discarded immediately after it is evaluated. It is never stored or transmitted.
- Outside the open dashboard the camera starts only when the keyboard and mouse have been idle for a while, and stops again right afterwards.
- The camera can be switched off at any time in the application settings or in system settings.
3. Where statistics are stored
Daily statistics, meaning screen time, the number of breaks and the longest session, are stored locally only, inside the application container on the user's device. NEXT176 has no access to them.
The user can export the history to a CSV or JSON file at any time, to a location of their choosing. The export runs locally and is not sent anywhere.
4. Notifications
20Away uses local system notifications only. It does not use push notifications, so there is no server that knows anything about the user. The application asks for notification permission only after the user turns notifications on.
5. Purchases
Any in-app purchases are handled exclusively by Apple Inc. through StoreKit. NEXT176 neither sees nor processes payment details. The application only checks locally whether a purchase is active.
6. Rights under the GDPR
Because NEXT176 processes no personal data in connection with the application, there is no data that could be disclosed, corrected or erased. All data stays on the user's device and is removed by uninstalling the application.
7. Children
The application is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from them or from anyone else.
8. Health notice
20Away is a wellness aid for working with screens. It is not a medical device, not a substitute for an eye examination, and it does not provide medical advice.
